Citibank, N.A. seeks a Compliance Surveillance Sr. Officer for its Jersey City, New Jersey location.
Duties: Conduct surveillance reviews and evaluate accuracy, reliability and integrity of the compliance analytics and findings produced. Identify potential issues associated with surveillance tools and process enhancements and development scenarios. Perform data gathering and consolidation, metrics assessment, trends analysis, and anomalies identification, applying knowledge of financial industry standards of compliance policies, risk taxonomies, and relevant U.S. and global laws and regulations. Perform surveillance issue case review, investigation and management using Total Conduct and NICE. Maintain adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies. Review Level 2 and Quality Control surveillance alerts, identify the precise risk, and provide disposition commentary adhering to the set procedures. Communicate and escalate potential issues for timely addressing and resolution. Coordinate with the first and second lines of defense to determine and implement appropriate resolutions. Collaborate with the Surveillance Intelligence Unit to refine and advance surveillance tools, models, and lexicon rules. Fortify detection capabilities and innovation within the program. Navigate complex organizational structures and drive communications across departments to convey regulatory expectations and facilitate risk mitigation. Respond to inquiries from auditors and regulators; participate in initiatives to drive adherence to regulatory frameworks and documentation. Generate reports and metrics review using Cognos. Communicate technical information in Systran to track surveillance progress, examine case dispositions to confirm risk factors are addressed. Review electronic communications and voice cases of various risk taxonomies. Synthesize complex data into actionable insights to support informed decision-making and strategy development. Collaborate with Metrics, Technology and Surveillance Intelligence Units in the development, testing, and implementation of enhancements of surveillance systems and processes. Involved in project management including defining scope, setting objectives and creating plans. Contribute to processes and procedures of assessing compliance risks, providing credible challenge, and managing escalation and resolution processes. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.
Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Economics, Finance, Law, or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Compliance Surveillance Analyst, Compliance Surveillance Officer, or related position involving monitoring, maintaining & enhancing compliance surveillance systems & processes for a global financial services institution. 4 years of experience must include: Data gathering and consolidation, metrics assessment, trends analysis, and anomalies identification; Applying knowledge of financial industry standards of compliance policies, risk taxonomies, and relevant U.S. and global laws and regulations; Project management including defining scopes, setting objectives and creating plans; Surveillance issue case review, investigation and management using Total Conduct and NICE; Report generation and metrics review using Cognos; Communicating technical information in Systran; Review of electronic communications and voice cases of various risk taxonomies; and Creation of prototype messages for risk mapping and development of risk detection and false alerts discernment models.
