About The Role                                                            

As a Compliance Officer, you will support the development, implementation and embedding of the regulatory compliance framework for Cigna entities based in Europe, with a particular attention to acting as local compliance officer to the Swiss branch of CEIC and advising on Cigna entity interactions with Swiss clients (“Swiss Business”).

You will be a member of the European Compliance Team whilst also supporting and being accountable to the Head of the Swiss Branch                                                      

                                                               

You'll Be Responsible For:                                                    

  • Support the team, by acting as subject matter expert on Swiss Business-centric compliance obligations applicable to our insurance intermediaries and insurers.
  • Act towards FINMA as the local compliance responsible of the Swiss branch of CEIC
  • Effect and curate all required regulatory filings with FINMA regarding Cigna entities
  • Co-ordinate responses to any regulatory risk assessments, visits, audit processes or information requests, and provide accurate information
  • Adapt and maintain the framework of compliance policies and procedures to support business practices, promote ethical standards and ensure regulatory and legal compliance; take ownership for the Compliance Manual for Swiss Business
  • Handle Swiss complaints
  • Maintain Swiss corporate commercial and data protection filings
  • Advise on insurance products and filings for admitted products.
  • Advise the business on the implementation of relevant compliance risk processes, procedures and documentation to ensure compliance in that respect.
  • Review internal controls in that respect.
  • Support the delivery of the annual compliance strategy and plan
  • Conduct horizon scanning on upcoming regulations with a Swiss nexus of importance to our Belgian entities and their Swiss branches and/or Swiss business
  • Propose and drive enhancements to compliance processes to ensure the compliance framework remains relevant for the current business structure and is aligned to best practice
  • Actively promote and embed a positive compliance culture throughout the business and promote the capabilities of the compliance team to provide high quality, cost effective and focused advice and support in respect of business initiatives
  • Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that service delivery meets the business’ expectations
  • Liaise with other business and independent internal control functions to ensure a coordinated approach
  • Provide process management and support for the meetings of the Comite de Direction for CEIC Swiss branch and/or Swiss Business and participate in other committees as required

                                               

What You'll Bring to the Role                                                               

  • Master’s degree in law from a European or Swiss university or equivalent knowledge of the European and Swiss legal and compliance framework for insurance activities
  • Strategic thinker, able to recommend solutions that balance business and risk perspectives
  • Business fluent in written and spoken English, fluent in one (or more) official languages in Switzerland as native speaker
  • Able to make efficient use of MS Office 365 applications
  • Able to perform basic data analyses using appropriate tools or willingness to acquire such skills within a reasonable amount of time
