Private Banking (PB) Compliance is a dedicated unit within the Global Compliance organisation. The main focus of PB Compliance is the review and approval of client onboarding and offers expertise for the dedicated markets within Booking Centre Switzerland and provides subject matter expertise regarding KYC and account opening standards and processes out of the Head Office to other JB Booking Centers.We are looking for a Compliance Officer to join the PB Compliance Standard Onboarding Team to review the quality of KYC information (documented mainly in English, German and French) during the client onboarding/ account opening process. The position is to be fulfilled in Zurich and being fluent in German is a mandatory skill.
Independently perform reviews of standard risk Client onboarding, including detailed assessments of Know Your Customer (KYC) information to verify completeness, quality and plausibility of documented information and assess Financial Crime risks
Review corroborating documents, perform and assess negative news hits and evaluate potential reputational risk
Evaluate complex structures (in particular trust, foundation and domiciliary company accounts) to ensure account opening set-ups are in line with relevant legal forms and CDB regulations
Undertake additional clarifications (with Front Units or other Compliance Departments) if deemed required and initiate escalation procedures in case of identified elevated AML/CTF risks
Support Relationship Managers and Management in implementing, advising, and supervising Compliance matters
Collaborate with partners across all three Lines of Defense (Front, Compliance/legal and Internal Audit), as well as other supporting functions (Business Management, Business Risk Management, etc.) and domestic and foreign group affiliate
Provide training and training materials in connection with Compliance topics
Ability to effectively apply working knowledge of global AML and CFT (Combating the Financing of Terrorism) regulations and standards, current money laundering schemes to effectively identify and mitigate risks
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions: ability to interpret an extensive variety of data and deal with complex situations
Ability to communicate unpopular opinions/decisions and to stay firm under pressure
Proven track record of solving highly complex problems, decision-making and prioritizations abilities
Solution-oriented and very strong analytical skills
Exhibit sound judgment and discretion
Good knowledge of MS Office and IT-flair
Several years of expert experience in Legal and Compliance or Audit at a globally operating Bank
University degree (Law or Business Administration) or equivalent
