Responsibilities

This role within the Compliance Belgium advisory team covers a wide array of Compliance responsibilities including but not limited to advice, advocacy, product/service review and approval, marketing review, training, surveillance, regulatory watch and monitoring of controls as part of our comprehensive program for ensuring compliance with the Belgian and European regulations and guidelines as well as the global, regional and local standards, policies and procedures of Deutsche Bank, with the ultimate aim of protecting the interests of our clients and the integrity and reputation of Deutsche Bank. Based in Brussels, you will provide proactive and sound advice on Compliance and regulatory matters to business partners and will work closely with other functions of the Bank to ensure compliance with the highest standards of control and processes.


 Responsibilities:

As a Compliance Officer, you are responsible for:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of regular second line controls and monitoring tasks, including client and employee surveillance alerts.

  • Advise and support the businesses on applicable laws and regulations, including the review of new products, business initiatives, control framework and marketing material.

  • Participate to the regulatory watch in order to determine the applicability and actionability of upcoming Belgian and European legal changes.

  • Ensure global and local Compliance policies and procedures are reviewed and updated on a timely basis, incorporating regulatory changes and industry best practices.

  • Help maintain a Compliance staff awareness culture by providing appropriate training to staff.

Skills:

  • Relevant experience in the financial sector of at least 3 years in Compliance related processes and matters (MiFID, consumer duties, consumer protection).

  • Team player committed to demonstrate high integrity in all dealings with colleagues at country and regional (Compliance) level.

  • Administratively well-organized & mentality of proactively addressing issues in a “risk based approach”.

  • Able to identify issues and solutions or opportunities, as well as to build efficacy in control programs.

  • Able to handle all oral and written communications in the national languages (French and Dutch) and in English.
