Compliance Officer, Assurant, GCC-India
The Compliance Officer role forms part of the Line 2 Risk and Compliance function and plays a key role in supporting the effective management of Compliance Risk for the Australia and New Zealand region.
This role supports the broader Australia and New Zealand Compliance team to achieve the strategic objectives through the design, implementation, embedment, and monitoring Assurant's approach to Compliance Risk management and provides recommendations, support, and solutions to meet compliance requirements and business needs.
This position will be in Hyderabad/Bangalore/Chennai at our India location.
Work Timing = 7:00 AM IST - 4:00 PM IST
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- Assisting with the development and review of compliance frameworks, policies and procedures.
- Maintaining effective and accurate records and registers to meet legislative and regulatory requirements, including the accuracy and completeness of the ANZ Compliance reporting calendar.
- Providing incident management services to business stakeholders to ensure issues and incidents are managed effectively, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Responsibility for the oversight and management of the Compliance mailbox including document management, storage, and filing duties as required.
- Managing, investigating, monitoring and responding to complaints and disputes as received.
- Undertake any training as required by the role.
The role also provides opportunities to support the Head of Compliance, ANZ and broader ANZ Compliance team to achieve the teams’ objectives including:
- Support and assist with compliance assurance, monitoring and supervision activities.
- Support business stakeholders with the identification, design and implementation of key obligations and risk controls, including ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the ANZ Compliance Obligations library.
- Support internal and external audits, internal business reporting preparation and review of documents and marketing material on behalf of our clients.
- Project management support as required.
- Developing tools or leveraging existing tools to enable more efficient and effective management of compliance risk.

What are the other requirements needed for this position?
Experience
- 3 years of experience in a compliance role or similar function
- Appropriate industry experience in financial services – general insurance is an advantage
Education/Qualification
- Graduation and Certification in an insurance or business-related discipline
Knowledge
- Competence in understanding complex business models and documentation
- Basic knowledge and understanding of the compliance landscape as it relates to financial services and trade-in/reverse logistic operations
- Good working knowledge of end-to-end compliance operations
Skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to access correct compliance information or seek out appropriate guidance as required
- Ability to build good relationships with stakeholders, both within and outside the Compliance function
- Strong skills across all Microsoft software applications
- Strong attention to detail
