Compliance Monitoring Manager

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Compliance Monitoring team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in our London offices. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The Compliance Monitoring Manager will work within the Risk and Compliance function, to support the Head of Compliance Monitoring in delivering a risk-based compliance monitoring programme across MMC UK.

In this role you will Complete individual monitoring reviews in accordance with the agreed methodology and process; and ensuring that, where issues are identified, remedial actions are agreed with and carried out by the business.

Compliance Monitoring is part of the UK Regional Compliance function, part of the Second Line of Defence (“2LOD”) which supports MMC UK businesses (Marsh, Mercer and Guy Carpenter).

We will rely on you to:

  • To work as part of the Compliance Monitoring team, usually in a support role working with a Senior Monitoring Manager on complex Compliance Monitoring reviews, undertaking agreed activities throughout the process, from scoping, fieldwork, analysis, validation of findings, report drafting and action tracking.

  • Leading on recurring Compliance Monitoring reviews, which are part of the regular oversight of key regulatory controls.

  • In addition to involvement in Compliance Monitoring reviews, working with the rest of the team to ensure that our internal processes and reporting are kept up to date and accurate. This includes day-to-day management of the operating rhythms such as actions reporting, maintenance of the audit universe, audit of action closure and the like.

  • Stakeholder engagement is an important part of the role, keeping colleagues in the first-line updated on progress throughout the review and working closely with them to agree appropriate actions where issues are identified.

What you need to have: 

  • A track record in executing a compliance monitoring framework.

  • The ability to operate effectively in a matrix management structure and to engage effectively and persuasively across a wide range of business units.

  • Good understanding and working knowledge of current compliance practices & techniques.

  • Experience of compliance monitoring.

  • A confident communicator (oral and written).
