Within our department Compliance, you will play a key role in ensuring that the company operates in line with its legal and regulatory obligations. You will advise management, support business units and contribute to building a strong culture of compliance.

Your responsibilities
As Compliance Expert your responsibilities will include:
- Monitor and interpret relevant Belgian and European legislation and regulation in the area of Compliance;
- Advise management and business units on regulatory requirements in areas such as AML/CTF and Sanctions, Integrity, Code of Conduct, Gifts and Hospitality, Conflicts of Interest, External Mandates and discrimination;
- Prepare, review and implement the necessary systems, documentation and reporting to comply with the applicable compliance framework;
- Conduct compliance monitoring and testing as foreseen in the Monitoring and Testing Plan;
- Contribute to the Compliance Risk Assessment and analysis and assist in the implementation of the Compliance Action Plan;
- Ensuring that Athora Belgium has adequate policies and procedures in place in areas of expertise.
Your profile
- You have a university degree in Law, Economics, or Management or the equivalent experience.
- You have 3 to 5 years of experience in a second line Compliance role in a financial institution (preferably a Life insurance company).
- You have excellent knowledge of French or Dutch and a good command of the other national language and are comfortable working in English.
- You are well organised, analytical and results oriented.
- You are rigorous, organised and can manage your priorities and respect tight deadlines.
- You are able to work and learn quickly and at a sustained rhythm in a dynamic environment.
- You can communicate with all kinds of interlocutor and are able to present results to senior management effectively and clearly.
- You like to rise to a challenge.
- You dare to think outside the box and do not hesitate to make suggestions.
- You are teamplay and dynamic with an open mind.
