JOB SUMMARY

The Compliance Analyst I supports the government contract accounting compliance program by assisting with audit readiness, indirect rate management, and regulatory and contract term adherence. This position supports compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) requirements through analysis, documentation, and coordination of audit and reporting activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with supporting DCAA and DCMA audits and reviews of the Accounting System, Incurred Cost Proposals, Provisional Billing Rates, among others.
  • Organize and formulate responses to DCAA requests for information and flux analyses.
  • Prepare incurred cost proposals.
  • Review transaction-level cost data for allowability, allocability, and reasonableness in accordance with FAR Part 31 and company policy. Support preparation and reconciliation of indirect rate calculations.
  • Assist in monthly and year-end closing activities related to indirect rate pools and bases.
  • Support training efforts related to cost allowability and timekeeping compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Strong working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices, general ledger, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in computerized accounting systems and knowledge of company-specific software. Proficiency in standard computer software, application programs and e-mail. Typing 45 wpm and 10-key by touch.
  • Ability to read and interpret written communications and documents. 
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively via written and verbal communication methods.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to visualize, articulate, and solve complex problems and concepts, and make decisions based on available information.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and practice discretion.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and effectively plan and organize duties to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with concentration, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, both logical and interpersonal.
  • Ability to work in a Native Corporation multi-business environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business-related field (candidates within three months of graduation will be considered), and minimum one year of accounting work experience, required.
  • Experience working for a Defense/Aerospace company preferred.
  • Public accounting and/or internal audit experience preferred.
  • Government contract accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience working for a large company or other Native Corporation preferred. 
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint preferred.
  • Ability to pass a drug, background, and credit screening.
