Complex Optimiser

Australia Full time

Job Expectations

Build your career and Australia’s future.

Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.

A bit about your role

As a Complex Optimiser at nbn, you will play a vital role in supporting our commitment to delivering exceptional service outcomes for communities across Australia. You will guide the end‑to‑end completion of complex civils and network remediation projects, ensuring each stage progresses smoothly and with care. By drawing on the Workforce Management system, you will monitor project milestones, assess delays, and work closely with our Service Delivery Partners to keep projects on track. Your work will help ensure that key timeframes are met, from Planned Remediation Dates through to final completion, strengthening the reliability and performance of the network for our customers.

In this role, you will nurture strong relationships with SDPs and internal teams, collaborating to resolve issues such as land access, environmental considerations or heritage constraints. You will bring clarity to complex workflows, proactively identifying risks and escalating where needed to protect project outcomes. You will also support the timely handoff of service work orders, maintain accurate project information, and contribute to reducing aged project profiles. Your work will be central to ensuring that customer commitments are honoured and that the broader field ecosystem continues to thrive.

A bit about you

If this role resonates with you, you will likely bring experience across telecommunications, field operations or managed network services, supported by qualifications in engineering, networking, communications or information technology. You are someone who thrives in environments where thoughtful coordination, clear communication and purposeful decision‑making make a meaningful difference. You are confident navigating complex processes, interpreting data, and offering practical recommendations that support operational excellence.

You approach your work with empathy, curiosity and a collaborative mindset, valuing strong relationships with partners and colleagues. You are comfortable managing multiple priorities, and you bring a calm, solutions‑focused presence when challenges arise. Your understanding of network construction, remediation requirements and field operations enables you to anticipate risks and guide projects with care. Above all, you are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to nbn’s mission of connecting Australians and supporting a safe, high‑performing field workforce.
