Complex Claims Manager QIMA USA

  • The salary range for this role is:  $168,000-$277,000

The Opportunity

The purpose of this role is to oversee and drive best practices, optimal outcomes, and accurate reserves for claims within a specific line of business or region, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in both retained and outsourced claims processes. The role will also involve the management and oversight of a small portfolio of high value and high complexity casualty claims.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and communicate a Claims strategy to support delivery of overall business targets
  • Drive deep levels of collaboration across all business units to ensure alignment and efficiency.
  • Lead the development of operating policies by engaging with key stakeholders for positive modifications.
  • Ensure team efficiency by managing claims-related finances and implementing best practices.
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategies, budgets, and process improvements.
  • Use planned business levels and knowledge of the Claims environment to forecast Claims activity and support decision making
  • Establish a personal connection with customers to ensure comprehensive communication and understanding.
  • Provide recommendations on business impact by analysing trends and identifying risks.
  • Direct thorough investigation of claims to comply with budgetary constraints and requirements.
  • Manage budgeted resources by forecasting needs and accounting for expenses accurately.
  • Oversee third-party administrators and ensure accountability to internal stakeholders.
  • Drive innovation in claims processes to improve team performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide technical expertise and business acumen as a key public interface to develop QBE’s profile in the marketplace
  • Devise, control, communicate and monitor and QBE claims reserving philosophy to drive forward Claims Handling

Work Experience:

Necessary Work Experience includes:

  • Moderate relevant experience.

Preferred Work Experience includes:

  • Experience leading an insurance claims function.
  • Experience managing or leading others.
  • Increasing levels of responsibility.

Qualifications:

Necessary Qualifications include:

  • Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute

Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE’s annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance. We encourage all candidates to apply, even if their salary expectations fall outside of this range, as we are committed to finding the right fit for our team.
