What are the core responsibilities for the Compensation Manager?:
- Lead the implementation project management, and administration of new & existing compensation programs including base pay, short-term incentives, and long-term incentive strategies
- Own and administer both the management & broad-based equity programs, with responsibility for preparing grants, administering paperwork, and managing program communications
- Lead annual compensation planning processes, including merit cycles, merit matrices, and total compensation associate communications
- Provide strategic guidance to leadership and relevant HR partners on pay decisions, compensation philosophy, and workforce planning
- Partner with HR and business leaders to ensure salary guidelines and governance practices are being followed
- Utilize data and analytics to evaluate program effectiveness (e.g., comp-ratios, midpoint analysis, cost modeling) and provide actionable insights
- Implement and maintain bonus plan criteria and incentive structures aligned to business performance
- Participate in and influence cross-functional discussions related to organizational changes and workforce strategy
- Lead compensation-related change management efforts across multiple stakeholders, including HR and hiring leaders (e.g. content and facilitation of workshops)
- Evaluate and ensure compliance of job descriptions with compensation frameworks and regulatory standards
- Lead at least 1 direct report
- Continuously assess market trends and provide recommendations to maintain competitive

- Drives data-informed decisions and elevates the organization’s understanding of compensation strategy
- Enhances the overall associate experience through thoughtful, competitive compensation practices

- Experience:
- Proven ability to operate with confidence and credibility, influencing leaders and navigating complex organizational dynamics
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills
- Strong compensation expertise with demonstrated experience in incentive implementation and management, equity administration, and compensation governance
- Strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate business needs and identify gaps before they arise
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to translate data into clear, compelling business stories
- Experience managing and influencing stakeholders across multiple levels, including executive leadership
- Ability to lead through change and drive alignment across cross-functional teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a consultative, solutions-oriented approach
- High level of ownership and accountability, with the ability to operate autonomously
- Experience working within HRIS systems (Workday preferred) and advanced proficiency in Excel and data modeling
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with executional excellence in a fast-paced environment
- Focused on solutions and demonstrates good judgment when it comes to solving problems and making decisions.
- Commitment to enhancing the associate experience and re-centering decisions around customer/associate impact
- Skills:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in compensation
- Experience in compensation program design, incentive structures, and equity plan administration
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred
- Experience working within a corporate or multi-unit environment preferred
- Self-starter. Ability to work autonomously with little support
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field
- Schedule / in-office requirements:
- Hybrid working model; Monday-Wednesday in office, Thursday/Friday from home.
