PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Salary to be commensurate with experience

The hiring range for this position is $26.97 - $33.72/hourly

This is classified as VHBE (Variable Hour Benefit Eligible), where the selected candidate will work up to 40 hours per week.  The selected candidate will be eligible to elect Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, accrue paid time off, and receive 11 paid holidays.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Review, validate, and correct as needed, all employee changes in Workday including hires, promotions, transfers, and pay changes.  

  • Serve as primary liaison with HRIS, IT, Payroll, and other internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve Workday errors. 

  • Audit Workday compensation and classification data; make corrections as needed and assist with developing data integrity practices. 

  • Assist with Workday configuration, testing, and updates of annual market pay range updates, annual merit pay allocations, and other functionality as needed. 

  • Assist with the development, configuration, testing, and implementation of Total Rewards and Total Compensation statements. 

  • Write, modify, generate, and distribute Workday reports. 

  • Assist with reporting, uploading, and managing data within and across internal and external systems.  

  • Assist with maintaining compensation and classifications systems and records such as job descriptions, pay table, and job configurations in Workday. 

  • Assist with the completion of survey requests from outside agencies and vendors. 

  • Assist with special projects as needed. 

  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. 

 

Education:   

  • Associate’s degree in information technology, Human Resources, or related field. 

 

Experience:   

  • 1 year of data entry, HRIS maintenance, or related experience 

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Workday HCM data entry experience 

  • Human Resources experience 

  • Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) experience 

  • HRIS configuration and maintenance experience 

 

Knowledge: 

  • General human resources best practices 

  • General system data entry and data management processes 

 

Skills:   

  • Strong interpersonal skills  

  • Skill in the use of Windows-based programs 

  • Strong customer service skills 

  • Skill in checking information for accuracy and completeness and correcting errors 

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills to include mass data manipulation, x/v Lookups, and creating pivot tables 

 

Abilities:   

  • Handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy 

  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing  

  • Demonstrated consistent, high accuracy of detail, and keep detailed records 

  • Interact knowledgeably with staff and public in person, email, and by phone 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS  

 

Essential Personnel:  

  • When a local announcement of emergency or disaster is declared by the City, all City of Aurora employees may be required to work as essential personnel 

 

Physical Demands: 

  • Sedentary physical work that involves moving no more than 10 pounds at a time 

  • Occasional lifting, carrying, walking and standing 

  • Occasional pushing, pulling, bending and stooping 

  • Clear vision to read and interpret reports and other written documents 

  • Speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and citizens 

  • Hand/eye coordination for operation of computer keyboard, carts and moveable shelving 

 

Work Environment: 

  • Works primarily in an office environment 

 

Equipment Used: 

  • Uses standard office equipment including personal computer and common office software such as email, internet, Word, Excel and menu driven databases  

  • This job may require the incumbent to use personal equipment (e.g. vehicle, cell phone, tools, etc.) in the course of their employment
