Job Overview

This position supports the administration and analysis of compensation programs and processes across Tufts Medicine, including consultation on offer recommendations, participation in salary surveys, and preparation of compensation reports. Responsibilities include conducting market analysis, performing job evaluations, developing job descriptions, and maintaining the Tufts Medicine job architecture. The role also analyzes compensation data to ensure data accuracy, support system optimization, and provide insights that promote consistent and equitable compensation practices.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Master’s degree in human resources, business administrative, data analytics, finance or related field AND completion of a compensation specific internship OR;

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, data analytics, finance, or a related field AND One (1) year of experience in data analysis, effectively utilizing Microsoft Excel to interpret and organize data.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Three (3) years of healthcare compensation experience.

2. Experience with Workday.

3. Experience with Compensation analytics tools such as Payfactors.

4. Experience working with Microsoft Excel.

5. Experience supporting health-systems.

Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list.  Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

1. Supports Senior Compensation Consultants in a variety of compensation areas, including but not limited to internal and external equity, competitive pay practices, incentive compensation, and emerging trends.

2. Reviews, edits, maintains, and creates job descriptions, ensuring alignment with the Tufts Medicine job architecture.

3. Reviews market data, determines FLSA status, and maintains appropriate documentation regarding the review.

4. Assists in the preparation and in the administration of annual salary programs.

5. Reviews (and may approve) a variety of compensation actions, such as promotions and above guideline job offers.

6. Participates in completing annual compensation salary surveys. Compiles survey results and provides summary of labor market trends to support the management of compensation programs.

7. Provides data and reporting resources to support talent development, workforce planning and best in class HR analytics.

8. Maintains and may assist with building reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor the integrity and validity of the data reported.

9. Works with and reviews large amounts of data.

10. May participate in System wide projects and initiatives.

Physical Requirements:

1. Work environment is a professional office environment with typical office requirements such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.

2. This is largely a sedentary role, which involves sitting most of the time, but may involve movements such as walking, standing, reaching, ascending / descending stairs and operate office equipment.

3. Frequently required to speak, hear, communicate and exchange information.

4. Ability to see and read computers displays, read fine print, and/or normal type size print and distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.

5. Ability to work in confined or open environment.

6. Ability to work independently or in a team environment.

7. Must maintain a working knowledge of federal and state labor laws related to compensation and all aspects of human resources. 

Job Profile Summary

​This role focuses on supporting the design, development, and implementation of human resource programs and policies, including recruitment, training and development, compensation and benefits, mobility, talent acquisition, diversity, talent management & organization development and employee/labor relations. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Compensation duties: Designs programs that align rewards with organization goals, analyzes and models merit and other salary increases, manages job evaluation systems, and analyzes market data to assess the organization's competitive market position. A professional individual contributor role that may direct the work of other lower level professionals or manage processes and programs.   The majority of time is spent overseeing the design, implementation or delivery of processes, programs and policies using specialized knowledge and skills typically acquired through advanced education. An entry level role that applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education.  May require the following proficiency:  work is closely supervised, problems faced are not typically difficult or complex, and explains facts, policies and practices related to job area.

Pay Range:

 

$72,371.94 - $90,464.92
