Role purpose
The role provides essential support across the full breadth of the Community Impact team’s work, including campaigns, communications, partnerships, due diligence, Benevity platform management and volunteering. It also supports the administration of the People First Fund for the Howden Foundation. A key part of the role is helping to increase employee engagement in Community Impact activity and ensuring all activity is accurately tracked, monitored and reported. This position is critical to enabling the team to work efficiently and offers broad exposure to every element of Community Impact delivery.
Accountabilities
Group Giving platform (Benevity)
Group Giving, powered by Benevity, is Howden’s global Community Impact platform used to engage employees in volunteering, fundraising and matched funding. This role acts as the primary point of support for employees, ensuring they can access and use the platform effectively for all Community Impact activity.
Attend monthly platform meetings with the Community Impact Manager and Benevity CSM to stay informed on updates, enhancements and issue resolution.
Produce ad hoc reporting for employees and Community Impact champions across the Group.
Own the logistics, setup and materials for the quarterly Community Impact – Welcome to Howden new joiners’ presentation, including delivering a Group Giving/Benevity demo.
Support with charity eligibility as required for platform activity, as well as monitoring of matching requests and enquiries, review of giving and volunteering opportunities for publishing.
Provide technical support to employees (particularly CI champions), charity partners using the platform, and the Howden Foundation, resolving errors or access issues promptly to ensure a smooth and positive user experience.
Howden Foundation
People First Fund
The role supports the Howden Foundation’s People First matched funding programme, ensuring employees receive timely guidance and that all activity is processed accurately and efficiently.
Respond to employee queries on matched funding, including platform access, usage and charity eligibility.
Review and process matched funding requests on Group Giving promptly, approving or requesting further information where required.
When required provide reporting for the Howden Foundation team on matched funding usage.
Complete monthly reconciliations of Benevity invoices and submit to Finance where required.
Reconcile and submit Foundation invoices
Howden Foundation Charity Awards
Support the administration of the charity awards campaign, contributing to communication, documentation and follow up activities as required.
Charity Partnerships & Due Diligence
Support the selection and onboarding of new UK charity partners, ensuring all required information, materials and processes are in place.
Assist with the delivery and coordination of volunteering and fundraising activity for flagship UK charity partners.
Ensure all volunteering and fundraising opportunities are uploaded to Group Giving and that participation is accurately logged and tracked in a timely manner.

Work with the Community Impact Communications Manager to share engagement opportunities and raise awareness through appropriate internal channels.
Support global due diligence requests for Tier 1 and Tier 2 charity partners and donations.
Team Operations & Support
Provide general team support across diary management, administration, campaigns, events and volunteering activity as needed.
Take full ownership of the Community Impact inbox, managing and responding to all employee queries or forwarding them to the relevant Community Impact manager when appropriate.
Manage and own the Community Impact calendar, ensuring all events and attendee lists are accurate and up to date for both online and in person activity. person activity.
Maintain all ‘How To’ Guides for Community Impact activity and Group Giving, ensuring they remain accurate and up to date.
Support CI managers with updating team documents, including volunteering guidelines, process documents and presentation materials.
Manage the database of Community Impact champions, including maintaining associated Outlook distribution lists.
Business Reporting
Assist with uploading manual offline volunteer activity onto Group Giving to ensure accurate reporting and visibility of engagement.
Support business reporting on Group Giving, including employee engagement, fundraising, matched funding and volunteering activity.
Supports / Contributes To
Support the wider Community Impact team across core activities and priorities.
Support the Community Impact Campaigns Manager with the delivery of three flagship global campaigns, providing coordination and operational assistance where needed.
Help drive internal engagement with Community Impact initiatives, partnerships and campaigns across the business, supporting the Communications Manager where necessary.

Experience
Desired: At least one year of experience in a Community Impact/CSR role or within the charity sector.
Desired: Working knowledge of a donation or volunteering management system (e.g., Benevity).
Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Excel, Teams, SharePoint and Outlook.
Ability to manage, interpret and present data to support reporting and decision making. making.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and requests across Community Impact and the Howden Foundation.
Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
