About This Job
The main purpose of this job is to support and enhance Commerce Bank's community relationships with various non-profits, underserved communities, housing organizations, and community outreach entities. The job will also be responsible for creating community awareness regarding Commerce Bank’s mortgage products, services and programs and encourage homeownership through networking events and community related and bank sponsored seminars.
Essential Functions
Actively promote Commerce Bank's affordable housing products in targeted areas
Originate CRA eligible residential mortgage loans in accordance with the bank's policies and procedures
Establish a strong presence for Commerce Bank in the assigned market by developing relationships with realtors and community development groups
Work with non-profits and other community organizations to provide homeownership and financial education
Attend Community Seminars/Workshops/Training
Meet with community partners, prospects, or other CRA qualified contacts to educate on Commerce Bank's products and services
Provide monthly report to management for previous week's CRA involvement/activities
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
Intermediate knowledge of the home loan industry
Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and meet Commerce Bank’s driving record criteria; ongoing employment may be contingent upon meeting all driving requirements
Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Education & Experience
Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
2+ years experience in sourcing and/or originating Community Development related first mortgage loans primarily in a regulated financial institution environment required
Significant relationships/connections with Realtors, Non-Profits, Civic Leaders and other organizations that specialize in Community Development lending substantiated by referrals, letters of recommendation, public recognition, awards, etc. preferred
Bilingual in Spanish is preferred

*Hybrid Schedule: In office 2 - 3 days per week
