Position Summary
We are seeking a creative, motivated, and community-oriented intern to support our Social Media Marketing, Community Engagement, and Community Violence Prevention initiatives. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in digital communications, brand storytelling, and audience growth while also engaging in public health–informed violence prevention strategies and community-based outreach. The intern will help strengthen partnerships, elevate community voices, and support initiatives that promote safety, healing, and equity. The ideal candidate is passionate about community impact, enjoys creating engaging content, and is eager to learn how strategic marketing and outreach can advance violence prevention and community well-being. This is part-time, about 10 hours a week and a time-limited position April 2026-June 2026.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Social Media Marketing
- Assist in developing and executing social media content across platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X/Twitter).
- Create graphics, short-form videos, and written content aligned with brand voice and goals.
- Draft and schedule posts using social media management tools.
- Monitor analytics and provide performance reports with recommendations for improvement.
- Support campaign planning and promotional strategies.
Community Engagement
- Assist with planning and promoting community events sponsored by Life Outside of Violence Program.
- Engage with followers and respond to comments and messages in a timely, professional manner.
- Conduct outreach to community partners and stakeholders.
- Support relationship-building initiatives and audience growth strategies.
- Help collect and share community impact stories.
