The Office of College Admission thinks about how an applicants’ unique talents, accomplishments, energy, curiosity, perspective and identity might weave into the ever-changing tapestry that is Brown University. Grades, standardized test scores, essays, recommendations, independent work, the quality of the secondary school program and achievements outside the classroom are among the factors used to evaluate this promise, but no one of these measures is considered determinative. 


Responsibilities:

The Office of College Admission part-time Community Based Organizations (CBO) Liaison will serve as the centralized point of contact and liaison for college access organizations and CBOs providing consistent, proactive communication throughout the admissions cycle and responding to process-oriented questions (e.g., timelines and engagement opportunities), rather than individual application outcomes. They will organize, maintain, and regularly update a national CBO contact list and related resources, with attention to counselor turnover at CBOs and continuity of relationships. They will proactively communicate key admissions updates to CBO partners, including where Brown is in the process, decision timelines, and relevant next steps, rather than relying solely on inbound questions. This position will serve as a centralized point of contact for Brown affinity groups (including alumni affinity groups and the Office of Alumni Relations) involved in spring outreach and yield efforts, streamlining communication and coordination.


Qualifications:
 

Education and Experience

  • Required:  Bachelor’s Degree

  • Eight years of experience in education/higher education fields, with 6 years of college admission experience at a highly selective institution or in community outreach and strategic partnerships related to education access.

  • Experience working with community based organizations and college access groups is preferred.

  • Strong record of leadership and professionalism 

  • Strong data research and analytical skills
