Role Overview

The Principle, Community and Stakeholder Engagement is responsible for building and maintaining strong, trust‑based relationships with municipal governments, regulatory bodies, frontline authorities, and surrounding communities in regions where Coupang operates or plans to expand.

 

This role supports business continuity and growth by enabling effective stakeholder outreach, facilitating permitting and approval processes, and proactively managing community engagement related to Coupang’s facilities and operations.

 

The role requires close collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and government stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of projects while maintaining Coupang’s reputation as a responsible corporate citizen.

 

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for municipal governments, regulatory authorities, public safety officials, and community stakeholders related to Coupang’s facilities and operations within assigned regions, building and maintaining strong, constructive working‑level relationships.
  • Plan and execute stakeholder outreach initiatives to support Coupang’s infrastructure development, expansion, and ongoing operations, including monitoring community sentiment, identifying emerging issues, and proactively managing risks and opportunities related to Coupang’s operational footprint.
  • Support permitting and approval processes by coordinating engagement with relevant authorities, tracking requirements and timelines, and ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent exchange of information.
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external stakeholder engagements, including meeting and site‑visit planning, agenda and material preparation, logistics, follow‑ups, and action tracking for government officials, community leaders, and internal teams.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to internal stakeholders on community feedback, stakeholder interactions, and regulatory developments; support the development of engagement strategies, briefing materials, and documented records to ensure alignment, accountability, and continuity across teams.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience supporting permitting, zoning, licensing, or regulatory approval processes
  • Familiarity with infrastructure, logistics, industrial facilities, or large-scale operational/construction environments is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, balancing external relationship management with internal business priorities
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel and support on-site activities as required
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in both Mandarin and English
  • Ability to communicate in additional Taiwanese dialects is a plus

  • Strong track record of engaging effectively with local communities, government authorities, regulators, industry associations, business associations, chambers of commers, NGOs, and other external stakeholders
  • Proven capability to influence without authority, build trust, and drive alignment across cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple stakeholder workstreams simultaneously
  • Strategic yet hands-on mindset, with the ability to translate community and stakeholder insights into practical, solution-oriented actions
