As a Communications Specialist – Level 3 located in Dulles, VA, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. The preferred location for this role is Dulles, VA. May consider one of the following major Space sector locations: McLean, VA; Chandler, AZ; or Gilbert, AZ.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide communications support to the space control and in-space servicing and refueling portfolios within Northrop Grumman’s Space Superiority Division
  • Develop, plan, and conduct communications programs to support company business objectives with the media, public, industry, stockholders, and employees
  • Utilize strategic communications activities to elicit desired target audience actions and help shape customer perceptions, public opinion, and policy decisions
  • Write, edit, distribute and measure results for content on a variety of channels, including talking points, articles, scripts, website copy, social media, intranet, email, and events
  • Cultivate working relationships with senior executives, spokespersons, and technical experts with equal ease
  • Assist in preparing key opinion leaders and technical experts to provide perspective and insight to the media
  • Support marketing communications for paid campaigns and the development of marketing collateral
  • Procure and produce a diverse array of inspirational content about our people, technologies, successes, and business capabilities. Content will range from articles and videos, to interviews, Q&As, webinars, infographics, and photo/caption features
  • Manage the capture/production, approval, storage, and retrieval of photos, videos, graphics, and other visual assets
  • Ensure communications plans and tactics are consistent with the company’s strategic vision and reflect the Northrop Grumman brand
  • Other duties as assigned

  

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, strong judgement, problem solving and organizational skills, and superb attention to detail
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with professionals, demonstrating tact and poise
  • Interpersonal skills and a “can-do” attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with accuracy and composure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

 Preferred Qualifications:     

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
  • Experience with Associated Press style
  • Experience producing editorial content for a media organization or managing owned digital channels such as web properties and social media accounts
  • Aerospace and Defense experience

Northrop Grumman Total Rewards 

Primary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 - $141,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
