Our communication specialists perform writing, graphic design, website, social media, and other communications tasks to promote programs and achievements of the Department among diverse internal and external audiences.

This full‑time role typically follows an 8–5 p.m., Monday–Friday schedule with flexibility and is ideal for a dynamic, versatile communications professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and values collaboration within a small, supportive team. The successful candidate will be proactive, positive, and highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities while taking initiative, and will bring a strong background in social media, especially Instagram and LinkedIn, including content planning, creation, and analytics.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist with content development, editing, and design of a wide range of multimedia communications for several different audiences in and outside the Department.
  • Maintain web pages across the Department, serving as a resource for 20+ divisions, including copy and layout.
  • Assist with the production of materials for the department, including research, writing, editing, photo shoots, and graphic design.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or other related discipline required.
  • 1-3 years of related work experience required in a large, complex organization (preferably healthcare).
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially with InDesign and Photoshop, and with social media platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Experience with web content management systems.
  • Solid writing skills with demonstrated knowledge of principles of good grammar and style; excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications, which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access, and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis, and maintain databases.

  • Oral Communications: Ability to comprehend and communicate complex verbal information in English to medical center staff, patients, families and external customers.
  • Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.
  • Team Work: Ability to work collaboratively in small teams to improve the operations of the immediate work group by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team members.
  • Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff and external customers in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem solving. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

Physical Nature of the Job:
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally in carrying, lifting, pushing, or pulling objects. Sitting most of the time, with walking and standing required only occasionally

 

 

Pay Range:

$65,000.00 USD - $94,994.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
