The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is looking for a Communications Manager supporting Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) to join our team in Hazelwood, MO or Berkeley, MO.
This role will lead a team of Air Dominance communicators who support the BDS tactical aircraft portfolio of fighters, advanced training and autonomous aerial refueling. This position will also assist with communications for the St. Louis site, the largest in BDS. This manager will oversee a team of three communicators, and provide advice and counsel to senior management.

Position Responsibilities:
Lead a team of Communications Specialists that provide program communications for the fighters, T-7, F-47 and MQ-25
Provide coaching, mentoring and development opportunities
Oversee the development and execution of strategic communications plans to ensure communications resources and people are focused on activity to advance the business goals and priorities of the program, business unit and company
Partner with the Air Dominance director to execute site related events and communications
Ensure the team is considering global perspectives, industry awareness and competitive data when developing communications
Guide the team to identify obstacles or challenges, while assisting them in offering recommended solutions for successful outcomes
Track plans to completion, show and explain those plans in business meetings, and describe how the results are measured to show value
Collaborate with government operations and other functional leaders across BDS divisions for the assigned portfolio of programs
Collaborate with peer managers to ensure division, business unit and Communications goals are met
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the necessary Public Affairs Officers (PAOs), key supplier and industry partners, business partners, employees, campaign vendors and reporters
Provide counsel to leadership teams on communications issues, risks and opportunities
Support relevant trade shows
Work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
Support crisis communications for assigned portfolio of programs and across the business unit as needed
The selected candidate will be required to perform work at the St. Louis site. Domestic and occasional international travel may be required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
5+ years of experience in Communications (including, but not limited to: Corporate Communications, News Media, and Public Relations)
5+ years of experience working in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
3+ years of experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives and stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Experience leading teams and/or leading initiatives
Willing to travel both domestically and internationally
Willing to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekends
Experience with defense programs, government acquisition process, domestic and global campaign work

Summary pay range: $133,450 -$180,550
