Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Communications Officer, the assistant participates in the smooth functioning of 
the unit's operations. 


Responsibilities include: 

  • Posting news items, visuals and events online to the ISoN website, TV screens, Envoke, and social media platforms 
  • Updating existing website content 
  • Providing ongoing logistical event support – coordination, communications, photography and videography, set-up etc. 
  • Providing general administrative support, including shifts at the main reception desk on the 18th floor.


Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

  • English-French bilingualism
  • Experience with Content Management Systems, website maintenance, social media
  • Skills in searching multiple types of information environments
  • Education or experience in one of the following domains: communications, library and information studies, knowledge management, web systems, usability or marketing
  • Must be Work Study approved (proof will be required)
  • Skills in searching multiple types of information environments
  • Familiarity with marketing email platforms
  • Basic familiarity with graphic design software, such as Adobe Photoshop

Knowledge of English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level #4 on a scale of 0-4.
