Hiring Unit:
Student Affairs Officer, Macdonald Campus

Position Summary:

  • Hosts in person campus tours.
  • Greets students & answers general inquiries about the Macdonald Campus (programs, student life, living in Montreal, etc.) with a positive attitude
  • In collaboration with McGill Recruitment staff, shares own student experience, answers questions from prospective students, their families, guidance counselors, and alumni during webinars, virtual events, and when safety guidelines permit, in-person events.
  • Participates in social media campaigns and events (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, YouTube)
  • Supports other recruitment activities and events, as needed, such as answering the phone, responding to e-mails and assisting in various administrative tasks, helping with the setting up and taking down of signs, equipment, during on campus events.
  • The list of functions outlined above is representative and not a complete and detailed list of tasks which may be performed by the incumbent.



Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

  • Communication skills.
  • Experience or confidence with making oral presentations such as giving tours to groups of students and their parents.
  • Ability to clearly present information & answer questions.
  • Exhibit customer service approach and enthusiasm.
  • Flexibility and dependability required.
  • Being currently enrolled in programs offered at the Macdonald Campus is an asset

Knowledge of English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 3 on a scale of 0-4.
