Position Overview

The Shaw Contract social media communication specialist plays a key role in bringing Design Culture to life across internal and external channels and is energized by connecting brand purpose to meaningful audience engagement.

The social media communication specialist leads the day-to-day execution of Shaw Contract’s social channels, translating brand and communications strategy into compelling, platform-native storytelling that builds community and strengthens our position as a design leader.

Shaw Contract’s social presence is a reflection of our design culture. This role requires strong design judgment. Candidates must be able to independently create, evaluate, and refine visual social content that reflects Shaw Contract’s design and brand standards.

Working in close partnership with the content + communications team, this role serves as a trusted thought partner, translating strategy into high‑impact social storytelling. Success is defined by audience growth, depth of engagement, and the ability to generate insights that shape future content decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively monitor social and commercial interior design to identify emerging trends and translate them into on‑brand opportunities that support Shaw Contract’s brand strategy.
  • Create original, platform-native content, including short-form video, photography, motion graphics, and static design, collaborating with other team members as needed 
  • Own social performance and community engagement, turning metrics into clear, actionable insights that influence outcomes through meaningful customer and community interaction.
  • Implements brand strategy through owned channels and internal communication channels
  • Accountable for channel performance tracking and insight generation by analyzing engagement, growth and content effectiveness
  • Maintain a library of assets, including all source files for creative assets and social copy
  • Support additional internal communication efforts and brand strategy

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in social media, communications, marketing, or content roles with proven ownership of social execution.
  • Demonstrated design judgment with the ability to independently create, edit, and evaluate on‑brand visual content for social platforms
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (especially Photoshop) and/or comparable design tools
  • Experience experimenting with AI‑enabled tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Adobe Firefly, or similar) to support content creation and efficiency
  • Portfolio showcasing original social content and campaigns
  • Excellent writing, storytelling, and visual communication skills; copywriting experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social)
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Preferred experience in commercial interiors, flooring, architecture, or a related design industry
