Communication Planning and Operations Lead Specialist

Job Summary

The Lead, Comms Planning & Ops Specialist ensures alignment across communications initiatives and supports the execution of strategic priorities. Acting as a key integrator, the Lead Specialist coordinates with stakeholders across the full communications function to optimize workflows, maintain visibility into ongoing efforts and support the execution of strategic priorities. The team member will also act as a project coordinator for the executive comms team with direction from the Strategic Planning & Operations Manager. Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion is a must.

Essential Functions

  • Serves in a consulting role with key clients, translating business objectives into communications and marketing strategies, providing counsel and guidance. Executes and implements Spectrum Health communications and marketing plans, including the development of materials for clients. (Skilled Level)
  • Responsible for cultivating strong relationships with clients. Anticipates client needs, identify opportunities and solutions. (Skilled Level)
  • Develops monitoring and tracking systems to determine the effectiveness of communications and marketing plans. (Skilled Level)
  • Manages timelines and budgets as appropriate for department, product, and/or service line. (Skilled Level)
  • Works with the appropriate leaders to coordinate resources responsible for execution of communications tactics. Works with Creative Services to produce communications materials. Ensures that System standards are followed. (Skilled Level)
  • Coordinates with the appropriate staff to manage the content related to the Spectrum Health intranet and internet. (Skilled Level)
  • Works closely with System Strategic Planning and Development to review market share, patient volume, and other research information to determine marketing needs. (Skilled Level)
  • Supports system branding and image initiatives. (Skilled Level)

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing or Public Relations or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7 years of relevant experience in communications

Preferred

  • 2 years of relevant experience in health care communications, preferably with a large health care system
