The Commercial Manager supports the commercial, financial, and contractual performance of complex infrastructure and building projects delivered under Design-Build, Alliance, and other alternative delivery models across Canada. The role provides commercial oversight from pursuit through project closeout, helping balance risk, value, and project outcomes.

Working closely with project teams and leadership, the Commercial Manager advises on contract interpretation, commercial strategy, and risk management while supporting strong financial and contractual performance across the project lifecycle.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide commercial oversight for infrastructure and building projects, including interpretation and administration of head contracts such as Alliance, Design-Build, and P3 agreements.
  • Advise project teams on contractual obligations, commercial risks, and entitlement considerations to support informed project decision-making.
  • Lead or support change management processes, including evaluation, valuation, documentation, and negotiation of changes.
  • Participate in commercial and financial reviews, including cost forecasts, revenue projections, contingencies, and overall risk exposure.
  • Support project pursuits by reviewing delivery models, assessing commercial risks, contributing to go/no-go decisions, and assisting with RFQ/RFP submissions.
  • Lead the commercial review and preparation of consultant, designer, and trade agreements, ensuring appropriate alignment and flow-down of head contract requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years of commercial experience, including exposure to large scale Design-Build, Alliance, or P3 projects.
  • Experience supporting both pursuit and delivery phases on large infrastructure or building projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Law.
  • Other Certification, License or Membership             MRICS, PQS, or DBIA certification is highly preferred.

Compensation

$127,350.00 - $169,800.00

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
