Commercial Performance Manager

Your team

At Paddy Power, we don't just bet on sports and gaming – we make sport more exciting. Our retail business is at the heart of local communities, and we're constantly innovating to deliver the most entertaining, customer-first betting experiences in the industry.

The Commercial Performance Manager plays a central role within our Retail Commercial team, acting as the gatekeeper of commercial performance. You'll ensure the business has a clear and accurate view of day-to-day and week-to-week performance by producing reports, identifying key trends, and supporting decision-making across the commercial function.

Working closely with Commercial Managers for Sportsbook Propositions and Gaming, the Performance Analytics Manager, and the wider commercial team, you'll help build and optimise commercial strategies through data-led insights, forecasting, and re-forecasting. You'll own the weekly and monthly phasing and budgeting process, maintaining clarity on commercial activity, the sporting calendar, and initiatives that influence performance.

This role is critical in keeping the wider retail business updated on current performance, influencing factors, and plans to shape future results – including playing a key part in monthly commercial reviews, business reviews, and QBRs.

What you'll do

  • Produce and deliver regular performance reporting across daily, weekly, and monthly cycles, ensuring the business has a clear and accurate view of all key retail commercial metrics.
  • Monitor business performance trends and proactively highlight opportunities or risks to the commercial leadership team, turning complex data into actionable insights.
  • Support the budgeting, forecasting, and re-forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives while running weekly and monthly phasing to account for commercial activity and the sporting calendar.
  • Provide in-depth analysis of retail sportsbook and gaming performance to inform commercial decision-making, working closely with Commercial Managers to measure the impact of product and proposition initiatives.
  • Play a central role in monthly commercial reviews, business reviews, and QBRs, ensuring partners across the retail business are updated on current performance, influencing factors, and plans to shape future results.
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Analytics, and wider commercial colleagues to ensure performance insights are embedded into planning and execution across the business.
  • Develop clear and concise presentations that communicate performance insights optimally to both technical and non-technical partners at all levels of the organisation.
  • Continuously refine reporting and analytical processes to drive efficiency, accuracy, and impact, serving as the guardian of retail commercial performance.

How you'll do it

  • Proven experience in a performance, commercial, or financial analysis role. Ideally, this is within retail, gaming, or sportsbook environments. You should have a strong ability to identify business opportunities and understand commercial performance drivers.
  • Exceptional analytical thinking with the ability to gather, interpret, and analyse sophisticated data sets, identify trends, opportunities and risks, and translate insights into clear, actionable strategies through a commercial lens.
  • Deep understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and re-forecasting processes, with the ability to handle financial models and track performance against targets with precision.
  • Advanced Excel and data visualisation skills (Looker, Power BI or similar preferred), combined with meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency in all reporting and analysis.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, building relationships across Commercial, Finance, and Operations teams while communicating effectively with both senior and operational audiences.
  • Proactive problem solver who identifies performance challenges and opportunities independently, investigates root causes, and develops practical, data-driven solutions in a fast-paced environment.

About PaddyPower

Work that makes play jealous

Paddy Power has been breaking and re-writing the rules since 1988, from on-track bookmakers to cheeky upstart mischief-makers, to part of the largest betting and gaming technology company in the world.

Although we’ve grown to the betting behemoth we are today, we’ve not forgotten our roots. We continue to offer great value and entertainment to our customers and keep them at the heart of what we do.

Our culture of hard work, boldness and an innovative spirit got us to where we are and we take our work seriously, but not ourselves! We win by having the best people working well together. Don’t pigeon-hole us either – our company is a mix of sports nuts, gaming innovators, tech geniuses, perceptive people-people, inspiring leaders… and a very busy legal team.

We’ve got a growing squad of specialists, and we make the work fun. Sound good? Maybe there’s a spot on the team for you!

Plus, PaddyPower is part of the Flutter UK & Ireland family – a collection of big-hitting entertainment brands such as Betfair, Sky Betting & Gaming and Tombola.
