Role Overview

As the Category Manager for South East Asia and Korea (SEA-K), you are the regional lead for the Commercial PC P&L. You will lead the strategic direction and operational execution for Business Notebooks, Desktops, and Thin Clients across some of the world’s most dynamic markets.

Your mission is to balance aggressive market share growth in emerging SEA economies with margin extraction across developed countries within the cluster. You will be the bridge between global product vision and local market reality, driving the transition toward AI PCs.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic 4P Management & Planning

  • Product: Define the regional roadmap for Business Notebooks, Desktops, and Workstations, focusing on AI PC adoption and security-first features.
  • Price: Architect value-based pricing structures and "Price-as-a-Service" models to maximize margin while remaining competitive in high-growth markets.
  • Place: Optimize omnichannel distribution, managing relationships with top-tier retailers in Korea and strategic channel partners across SEA.
  • Promotion: Lead New Product Introductions (NPI) and regional demand-gen campaigns in collaboration with Marketing to drive category awareness.

Regional Growth

  • Growth P&L Ownership: Own the P&L for the assigned region, tracking Revenue, Gross Margin, and Market Share KPIs.
  • Identify untapped market segments in emerging SEA economies and high-tech enterprise opportunities in Korea.
  • Product & Roadmap: Define the regional portfolio for Business PCs, prioritizing AI-enabled hardware and security-first features. Serve as the "Voice of SEAK" to Worldwide teams to influence future designs.
  • Omnichannel Strategy: Optimize distribution by supporting HP Store product portfolio and business execution.

2. Operational Rigor & "War Room" Leadership

  • The 13-Week Gameplan: Lead a disciplined quarterly execution cycle—from Week -3 bottoms up gameplan built up by country across big deals, run rate and priority segments to weekly rigor on execution.
  • Weekly Business Reviews (WBR): Chair performance syncs with country leads to track Progress-to-Goal (PTG) against financial targets. Participate in Executive reviews across countries and region to ensure alignment across stakeholders and drive problem solving.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Finance, and Marketing to ensure seamless execution of the category business plan.

3. Deal Orchestration & Authority

  • High-Velocity Approvals: Act as the regional authority for Special Price Requests, balancing the need for sales speed with bottom-line integrity.
  • Mega-Deal Architecture: Work with regional and country sales team to support the financial engineering for large-scale enterprise RFPs and "Top Account" deals.
  • Authority Matrix: Work with central bid desk teams to constantly analyse price clearance data , streamline the Delegation of Authority (DOA) to empower local teams while maintaining strong hold on margin metrices .

4. Ecosystem & Alliance Leadership

  • Alliance Synergy: Co-develop growth initiatives and joint marketing plays with key partners including Intel, AMD, Microsoft, and NVIDIA.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 10–12+ years in Category Management, Business Development, or Sales within the IT/PC industry (Commercial hardware experience is essential).
  • Regional Expertise: Proven track record navigating the diverse channel dynamics of South East Asia and the corporate landscape of Korea.
  • Analytical Rigor: Advanced financial modelling skills (Excel/Power BI) with the ability to translate complex data into actionable sales strategies.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Marketing; MBA highly preferred.
  • Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management skills; ability to influence executive leadership and alliance partners across time zones.
