Sydney Full time

Job Expectations

Build your career and Australia’s future.

Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.

A fantastic opportunity has presented itself for a Commercial Operations Manager reporting to the Executive Manager, Commercial and Customer Contracting.

A bit about your role

As the Manager, Commercial Operations, you will play a central role in shaping how nbn delivers compliant and well‑governed commercial change at scale. Sitting within Commercial & Customer Contracting, you will bring discipline to the contract lifecycle, ensuring onboarding, execution, compliance, change management, communications, novations and end‑of‑life processes are delivered with clarity and precision. You will be trusted to uphold system integrity and controls, keeping data accurate, auditable and decision‑ready, while championing governance activities that stand up to scrutiny.

This role will see you partner across DocuSign and Salesforce programs to uplift digital workflows, making them simpler, faster and more reliable. You will guide the rhythms of FME and release management, planning and tracking notices with clear communication that keeps stakeholders informed. As a calm centre for change, you will bring adaptability and empathy, helping teams navigate complexity and ensuring commercial operations remain aligned with nbn’s obligations under SAU/WBA.

A bit about you

If this sounds like the opportunity for you, you will likely have diverse operational experience, ideally within telecoms or other regulated wholesale environments. You bring hands‑on expertise in contract management, business process operations or project management, and you are confident in applying contract law and regulatory principles—or in acquiring them quickly when needed. Your approach is practical and improvement‑focused, with a natural drive to simplify, standardise and automate wherever it reduces risk and accelerates delivery.

You are collaborative and influential, with a talent for concise communication and a habit of escalating risks early. You thrive in matrix environments, engaging across Legal, Regulatory, Product, Operations and customer‑facing teams to land outcomes that matter. Compassionate and pragmatic, you balance compliance with operational success, and your steady presence inspires confidence through change. With your energy for digital uplift and commitment to governance, you will help nbn deliver commercial operations that are resilient, transparent and purpose‑driven.
