Job Description

Responsible for providing highly skilled administrative support to senior level Commercial Relationship Management teams. Maintains and helps develop relationships with customers and internal partners.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Coordinates with customer and internal departments to ensure that all loan documents are prepared and processed timely and in compliance with policy.
  • Coordinates all aspects of loan closings when necessary, including correspondence with attorneys, county/parish, Department of Revenue, appraisers and other outside professionals to ensure that all documents are processed timely and in compliance with policy.
  • Supports senior Commercial Relationship lender with portfolio $80MM or greater. 
  • Assimilates, files and distributes appropriate financial and collateral documentation to appropriate internal departments as needed once loans are closed.
  • Ensures attorney’s fees and recording of deed and trust are processed timely and accurately.
  • Ensures wiring requests are handled and applied to correct GL accounts; may initiate wire requests.
  • Effectively organizes and maintains customer files.
  • Provides amazing customer service; Serves all customers by answering questions, researching issues and providing resolutions as needed.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with customers, vendors and internal partners; can support many functions in the absence of the Lender.
  • Maintains ongoing knowledge of bank products and services; assists lenders with daily customer contact and servicing.
  • Provides ongoing support to lenders for collateral and financial statement tracking and exception management.
  • Screens and routes incoming calls and visitors for commercial/market relationship team.
  • Recommends and implements appropriate changes to establishment policies and procedures.
  • Promotes and cross-sells other bank products and services to improve client awareness and strengthen community knowledge of Origin’s products.
  • Identifies and recommends bank products and services (TM and depository services)
  • Works with Treasury Management and Retail in opening client accounts.
  • Recognizes opportunities for efficiencies in handling upcoming loan maturities and structuring relationships to minimize administrative burden to back office and the team.
  • Proactively manages maturities and exceptions.
  • Understands specialty lending and is able to effectively support that process.

Education and/or Experience                                                     

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); seven or more years of experience in a commercial/business lending support role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Has expertise in specialty lending such as Aircraft, Asset Based Lending and CRE. Comprehensive knowledge of loan documents/processing/structuring, credit and pricing principles, collateral documentation, and implications of loans required.

Other Skills and Abilities                                                              

Understanding of underlying implications of loans for the customer and Origin Bank. Understands basic credit principles an can identify basic loan structuring and pricing principles.

Physical Demands  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.  The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
