Brown & Brown is seeking a Commercial Lines Technical Assistant to join our growing team in Somers, NY!
The Commercial Lines Technical Assistant will work closely with the Commercial Lines Customer Service Representatives, Commercial Producers and Commercial Lines Risk Managers to service new and existing accounts to achieve Agency sales goals and service standards.
How You Will Contribute:
Gain a thorough understanding of the agency's processes and guidelines for managing commercial insurance policies. This knowledge will ensure efficient handling of all commercial line-related tasks and compliance with industry standards.
Provide clients with timely and accurate responses to their inquiries about policy details, endorsements, cancellations, and other service requests. This ensures a high level of customer satisfaction and effective account management.
Work closely with the team to assess clients' risks and exposures, helping to identify potential coverage gaps. Assist in compiling account summaries to provide a clear overview of clients' insurance needs.
Evaluate clients' existing insurance programs and provide suggestions for new coverage or modifications based on their evolving needs. Offer informed recommendations to ensure clients have the right protection in place.
Develop proficiency in utilizing carrier-specific rating systems to obtain accurate quotes and coverage information for clients. This knowledge allows for efficient and accurate policy comparisons and ensures competitive pricing for clients.
Learn and understand the underwriting guidelines and risk preferences of the insurance carriers used by the agency. This enables the ability to align client needs with the right carriers and policies.
Carefully examine all policy documents, endorsements, audit reports, and carrier quotations to ensure they are accurate and complete. This attention to detail helps prevent errors and ensures that clients’ coverage is correct.
Ensure timely and professional responses to all forms of communication, including client questions, incoming mail, and internal requests. This helps maintain smooth operations and strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
Handle the review and processing of policy renewals in accordance with agency procedures, investigating any non-renewals. Proper documentation ensures that clients are up to date with their policies and avoids gaps in coverage.
Ensure that all billing is prepared accurately and follows the agency's established credit and collection protocols. This ensures timely premium collection and financial stability for the agency.
Licenses and Certifications:
State of New York Property Casualty Insurance License or be willing to obtain license.
Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
Strong oral and written communication skills
Good computer skills, knowledge of AMS360 (preferred)
College Degree at least Associates, prefer BA/BS (preferred)

Pay Range
$24.04 - $31.25 HourlyThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
