Brown & Brown is Seeking a Commercial Lines Account Executive to join our growing team.

How You Will Contribute

  • Develop a full working knowledge of Commercial lines procedures.
  • Handle client requests for information, endorsements, forms, and rates for accuracy, recommending changes or amendments.
  • Spend approximately 50 to 60% of the time outside with customers and new business opportunities.
  • Review and analyze policies, endorsements, forms, and rates for accuracy, recommending changes or amendments.
  • Oversee the requests for endorsements, and the preparation of binders, certificates, invoices, automobile identifications cards, and similar items.
  • Review suspense on a regularly scheduled basis, re-suspending, or handling items as appropriate
  • Provide customer relations with all levels of client’s decision-makers as well as the day-to-day technical client representatives.
  • Follow-up to address customer needs and resolve any problems or issues.
  • Maintain account files, overseeing that documents are placed into appropriate sections when not documented via automated database.
  • Order cancellations where requested or required.
  • Assist in clearing omitted items, account differences, and commission differences.
  • Coordinate premium financing needs with Accounting Department.
  • Keep clients and or producers informed of real or potential problems.
  • Correspond with markets and clients, accompanying producers or going alone on customer visits, as necessary.
  • Responsible for the marketing of assigned accounts, obtaining and evaluating quotations, and determining and recommending markets.
  • Maintain knowledge of carrier underwriting criteria, deviations, plans, and marketing policy
  • Maintain knowledge of approved rates by the respective carriers, and be able to explain the rating of any policy
  • Negotiate with company underwriters.
  • Prepare complete and accurate submission and/or modify quotations when required
  • Maintain a suspense file for proper follow up of outstanding quotation requests
  • Prepare policy orders to the successful carrier, binding, and invoicing as appropriate
  • Check Carrier issued policies for accuracy. Inform carrier and client of forthcoming corrections
  • Utilize agency automation with a high level of knowledge and proficiency
  • Pursue a program of personal and professional development
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Licenses & Designations

  • CPCU and/or CIC designation preferred
  • Florida Agents License

Skills & Experience to Be Successful

  • High School diploma, including management courses required or the equivalent
  • At least Five years of commercial retail insurance experience
  • Completion and/or evidence of skills as outlined by Commercial management
  • College Degree
