Commercial Lines Account Associate, Private Equity and M&A

About The Role

The Commercial Lines Practice in Toronto is looking for a strong Account Associate to support our Complex Risks: Private Equity and M&A team in Toronto.  This role involves working closely with the Assistant Vice President, Private Equity and M&A Unit.  This requires someone who is responsive, strong time management skills and good knowledge of property and casualty experience.  This is an ideal role for someone with strong technical and systems experience. 

What You’ll Do

  • Respond to third party information requests
  • Preparation of client renewal packages (certificates, summaries, etc.)
  • Timely issuance of submissions, binders, summaries, policies etc.
  • Detailed policy proofing/ fact checking
  • Invoicing / Account Receivables tracking
  • Managing abeyances and expiry dates
  • Answering basic client inquiries, communicating with insurance companies
  • File management to HUB standards (policy documents, summaries, correspondence, etc.)

Qualifications and expertise that pave the way for Success

  •   Post Secondary or equivalent work experience preferred
  • RIBO Licensed preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 years of commercial insurance experience
  • Experience in market negotiations on commercial policies
  • Strong aptitude to learn new risks and strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel (formulas and pivot tables), PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience on Epic or similar insurance broker management systems preferred
  • Strong client management skills

The expected salary range for this position is $54,500 to $69,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include extended health benefits, disability insurance, RRSP matching, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, and commissions for some positions.
