As an HVAC Technician I, you will support the operation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems within a large-scale pharmacy fulfillment environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and compliant workplace while supporting business continuity through preventative maintenance and rapid response to service needs.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with design specifications.
- Utilize the Building Automation System (BAS/BMS) to diagnose system issues, monitor performance, and collaborate with BMS technicians to implement necessary adjustments.
- Perform corrective, preventative, and emergency maintenance and accurately document all work completed.
- Review and manage assigned work orders through the CMMS system, including estimating labor and material requirements and maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
- Support and adhere to the preventive maintenance program to extend equipment life and minimize downtime.
- Assist the Chief/Supervisor in coordinating and overseeing subcontractors as needed.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and escalate issues or request additional support when required.
- Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including basic painting, plumbing, and electrical work.
- Manage and respond to internal service requests and tickets from site operations teams.
- Foster strong working relationships with internal partners, vendors, and team members.
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA guidelines to ensure personal and site-wide safety.
- Support mentoring and training efforts for team members as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Universal CFC Certification required.
- Minimum of 1 year of HVAC experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Refrigeration experience required.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, manuals, and mechanical drawings.
- Strong commitment to personal safety and the safety of others impacted by your work.
- Ability to complete OSHA 10 certification within six (6) months of hire.
- Basic understanding of financial principles related to maintenance operations.
- Proficient with computers, handheld devices, and CMMS systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PDF).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, climb stairs and ladders, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs. or more.
