This position works out of our St. Paul, MN location in the Structural Heart division.

Primary Job Function:
- The FP&A Manager for the Structural Heart division serves as a strategic finance leader responsible for driving financial performance, enabling data‑driven business decisions, and supporting long‑range strategic planning within one of Abbott’s key Medical Device business units.
- This role oversees financial planning cycles, including priority setting and ensuring the timeliness, accuracy and integrity of financial information, consolidations, analytics, business partnering, and strategic initiatives that help advance Structural Heart technologies aimed at improving patient outcomes.
- The FP&A Manager leads a team of analysts, partners closely with Division and Regional leadership, and ensures efficient, insightful, and compliant financial support across the Structural Heart organization.
What You’ll Work On
Financial Planning & Reporting
- Lead the division’s financial planning processes, including Annual Plan, LBE (Latest Best Estimate) updates, Long-Range Planning, and monthly forecasts.
- Oversee preparation of accurate and timely management reporting, including P&L reviews, variance analyses, dashboards, and performance scorecards.
- Synthesize US financial results and highlight risks, opportunities, and strategic implications for executive leadership.
Business Partnering & Strategy Support
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the Structural Heart leadership team, supporting decisions linked to portfolio strategy, product launches, market expansion, pricing, and resource allocation.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams—Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial—to evaluate business cases, model financial scenarios, and provide analytics based recommendations.
Financial Analysis & Insights
- Financial modeling for revenue forecasting, COGS performance, margin management, pricing assessments, and competitive dynamics.
- Identify emerging trends, business drivers, and leading indicators that impact divisional financial objectives.
- Improve forecasting accuracy through enhanced analytical methods, data integrity improvements, and real‑time insights.
Operational Finance Leadership
- Provide guidance on inventory, SCOGS, capital expenditure requests, and productivity initiatives in collaboration with Operations and Supply Chain finance.
- Ensure adherence to Abbott policies, internal controls, and compliance standards.
- Support audits, financial governance, and standardization of processes across the division.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of high‑performing financial analysts.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, analytical excellence, and business partnership within the finance organization.
- Ensure clear priorities, accountability, and alignment with broader Abbott FP&A frameworks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree (such as a Master's or MBA) is desired,
- Requires at least 7+ years of experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally interact with all levels of the organization. Position involves frequent interface with Directors, Controllers and Division Vice Presidents.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of accounting and finance principles with the ability to apply this knowledge to support business needs.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Ability to prioritize; strong organizational and planning skills; strong intellectual curiosity.
- A proven track record of partnering cross-functionally with various stakeholders to produce and deliver well-synthesized analyses, narratives, and recommendations to diverse audiences, including senior management.
- Must thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic company environment.
- Strong financial modeling skills and business acumen, with the ability to drive projects from start to finish. We’re looking for someone who is not afraid of detail and granularity, but can also think and operate at a higher level
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, CPA or equivalent degree
- Experience in global, matrixed organizations with cross‑functional business partnering.
- Knowledge of medical device financial drivers (e.g., pricing, gross margin, capital investments, operating expense management, etc.).
- Prior leadership experience managing analysts or cross‑functional project teams.

$113,300.00 – $226,700.00
