Te Taurapa Tūhono | New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is New Zealand's international business development agency. We work with some of New Zealand’s most forward-thinking companies, helping them to grow internationally bigger, better, faster for the good of New Zealand.
What you will be doing:
Our Sydney based team are looking for an ambitious and switched-on Commercial Business Advisor to help New Zealand Tech businesses enter and thrive in the Australian market.
This is an interesting role, where you work with a variety of businesses consulting with their senior leadership teams on how to land and expand in the Australian tech market. No two days will be the same and this influential role provides loads of opportunity for you to use your valuable experience and connections.
You will proactively support New Zealand tech companies to develop and execute their business growth plans, including identifying and providing strategic introductions, market analysis, and research. You’ll also be involved in the identification of potential in-market partners, help develop new channels to market and identify potential growth opportunities.
A superb relationship manager and team player, you will also be part of a global organisation working with colleagues in the Australia, New Zealand and our other international offices to achieve the New Zealand government's economic development goals.
What you will need to be successful:
You’ll be someone with 10+ years management level sales, marketing, account management, or consulting experience within the Tech Sector, this could be at Enterprise level or Start-Up / Scale-Up experience. With commercial smarts and know-how to manage a portfolio of companies, you’ll play a key role in evaluating their strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities and supporting them with market entry and growth strategies.
Keen business acumen is critical, as is the ability to work alongside CEO's and a willingness to 'roll your sleeves up'. You will have superior communication, business consulting and relationship management skills with the ability to build rapport quickly. Well-connected in the industry, you’ll have a strong sense for doing business in Australia.
Your enthusiastic, 'can-do' attitude, proactive nature, creative problem-solving skills and ability to work in virtual teams will be critical to your success.
