Wells Fargo is seeking a Commercial Banking Portfolio Management Manager.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and develop a team of individuals with low to moderate work complexity and risk in Commercial Banking Portfolio Management functional area
- Ensure credit execution is consistent and aligned with required credit policies and processes
- Support and drive adoption of new credit policies and related changes across the team
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development in the Commercial Banking Portfolio Management functional area
- Make decisions and resolve issues regarding resources, objectives, and operations of functional area and team to meet business objectives
- Interpret and develop credit policies and procedures
- Support in execution of policy changes
- Collaborate and consult with Commercial Banking Portfolio Management peers, colleagues, and more experienced managers
- Coach and develop credit team
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Commercial Banking Portfolio Management
- Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Commercial Banking Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 2+ years of leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Lead, coach, and manage a team performing secondary credit reviews, ensuring consistent quality, accuracy, and policy adherence.
- Oversee reviews of commercial loan financial analysis, identify policy exceptions, errors, and key risks, and provide credible challenge and escalation.
- Ensure delivery against SLA, quality, and business performance metrics.
- Collaborate with onshore partners and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and timely issue resolution.
- Drive operational excellence, including process improvement, re‑engineering, and audit/regulatory readiness.
- Support business transitions, team expansion, hiring, training, and talent development aligned to enterprise goals.
- Conduct periodic business and risk reviews, providing insights on risk trends, control effectiveness, and remediation progress.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) supporting risk, business, and process improvement initiatives.
Job Expectations:
- Experience leading quality assurance or credit review teams supporting commercial credit underwriting.
- Strong knowledge of commercial banking products and credit risk.
- Experience partnering with senior stakeholders across Wells Fargo and WF I&P.
- Demonstrated capability in process improvement, risk management, and operational governance.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, teams, and stakeholder expectations
- Strong data‑driven decision‑making and communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office.
- MBA or Six Sigma certification is an added advantage.
Required AI Skills and Competencies
- Understanding and Application of AI Tools: Ability to leverage AI platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Tachyon, Agentspace) for routine tasks such as summarizing information, drafting content, and analyzing data, while maintaining human oversight.
- Critical Thinking: Ability to interpret AI outputs, validate insights, and make informed business decisions.
- Responsible AI Use: Awareness of ethical considerations, data privacy, and compliance when using AI solutions.
- Adaptability and Continuous Learning: Commitment to upskilling and staying current with emerging technologies.
