The Commercial Analyst will work closely with the Senior Commercial Manager to deliver insights about online sportsbook market dynamics, competitive trends, and business performance to help inform strategic decision-making. Working closely with cross-functional partners (e.g. Product, Growth, Media, Partnerships, VIP, Finance, and more), this role focuses on translating numerous information sources into clear, actionable perspectives that support FanDuel’s continued growth and leadership in a highly competitive market.

In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.

 

THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Own and evolve external scorecarding and market intelligence, including sportsbook market share, growth drivers, margin dynamics, and competitive positioning across key operators
  • Monitor and interpret market-level indicators to surface early trends and emerging risks or opportunities
  • Produce regular performance and competitive readouts for Commercial leadership, including monthly deep dives, in-month signals, and executive-ready summaries
  • Partner cross-functionally with teams such as Product, Marketing, Strategy, Finance, and Analytics to connect external market insights with internal performance and strategic initiatives
  • Support strategic and competitive assessments through structured analysis and scenario thinking
  • Translate complex data and analyses into clear narratives and recommendations, tailored to senior stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Help build and maintain scalable self-service tools and dashboards (e.g., Tableau) that improve access to external insights across the organization

 

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a numerate field (business, math, stats, econ, finance, etc.)
  • Minimum 1-2 years of professional experience in analytics, business strategy, consulting, or market intelligence, with exposure to market-level or competitive evaluation preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work with external, imperfect, or lagged data sources, synthesize multiple inputs, and develop a coherent point of view
  • Comfort building structured analyses, models, or frameworks to evaluate market trends, competitor behavior, and strategic trade-offs
  • Experience building presentations (i.e. PowerPoint) and delivering them to senior members of a team
  • Strong analytical toolkit, including SQL and Excel; experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) and/or Python is a plus
  • Intellectual curiosity, comfort with ambiguity, and a desire to understand how industries and markets evolve over time
  • Interest in sports, gaming, or digital consumer businesses is a plus

The applicable salary range for this position is $79,000 - $99,000 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
