JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Commercial Administrator to join our team in Los Angeles! This role involves managing and coordinating commercial content across linear and digital platforms, ensuring commercials are aired in accordance with agency guidelines and standards. Key responsibilities include confirming the receipt of commercial instructions and media assets, editing and preparing daily program and commercial logs, and maintaining effective communication with Sales, Programming, and Agencies to address any issues or missing elements promptly. Strong organizational skills are essential to meet daily deadlines, and collaboration with On-air and programming teams, as well as Sales Administration and Operations/Live Ops, is crucial for managing schedules, formats, and promo/filler time.

The position also involves assisting with additional Commercial Administration tasks as directed by Management, accurately reflecting program schedules and inventory in the system, and updating systems promptly to ensure accuracy and compliance. This role requires excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with various departments to ensure smooth operations.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare daily program/commercial logs for air
  • Edit commercial placement in accordance with Sales directives
  • Adjust log formats as necessary to ensure correct log timing
  • Verify billboard and other added-value placements as necessary
  • Make needed adjustments to log automation elements
  • Match up commercials ordered with instructions from agencies
  • Verify dates, products, and all other parameters as indicated
  • Contact Agencies to request any missing instructions or tapes, or resolve discrepancies
  • Enter copy instructions accurately into the Traffic system and use designated reports to verify accuracy
  • Prepare daily delivery of tapes received to the operational facility
  • Gather and enter programming and format information into the Traffic system
  • Check against scheduling and Sales information for accuracy
  • Interface with Sales Coordination, Sales, Programming, On-air Promo, and Operations as necessary to complete logs
  • Reconcile and post logs after air
  • Handle other Commercial Administration duties as assigned by Management

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Prior Commercial Administration/Agency/Traffic experience
  • Experience with Windows-based software and database programs, specifically Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate precise information clearly and accurately
  • Ability to use a timing calculator        
  • Ability to make judgments within parameters as trained
  • Ability to balance multiple requirements and know when to bring an issue to Management’s attention
  • Ability to spot discrepancies and problem-solve using reports and other tools, as trained
  • Ability to work within deadlines and under pressure
  • Ability to multitask and manage a large volume of work
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor even while under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and time manage

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $21.00-26.44 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
