Summary
Responsible for coordinating activities associated with electric and water services for the City of Garland’s small to intermediate commercial accounts. Activities include account origination and billing, water usage, electric consumption and utility conservation pertaining to intermediate commercial accounts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Serve as the single point of contact for all customers between 50kw and 499kW, addressing all issues related to electric and/or water services.
Assist the Commercial Accounts Administrator in the development and deployment of demand side energy management and water conservation initiatives programs.
Identify any existing industry programs that would be beneficial to Garland utility customers.
Coordinate use of metering and billing technologies for utility commercial customers.
Act as a liaison between customers and City Departments assisting with any investigations and problem resolution regarding related concerns.
Coordinate the Energy Saver Program. Communicate program purpose, requirements and regulations to new and existing participants.
Conduct routine commercial energy and water audits to provide recommendations and solutions for efficient use of utility services.
Maintain databases and/or spreadsheets to provide statistical reports as required.
Oversee the selection, management, technical guidance and evaluation of the Energy Efficiency Coordinators.
Evaluate staff performance, assess training needs and develop improvements to workflow
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
2 years related experience
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications
Education/ Experience
Bachelor’s Degree and certification(s) pertinent to the electric and/or water industry
6-8 years’ experience in Account Management, Customer Relations, service issues as they pertain to electric and water service(s) for Commercial Customers
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
General knowledge of the Energy Saver Program
Knowledge of HVAC and lighting technologies
Knowledge of utility service standards and procedures
Intermediate understanding of water and electric rates and rate structures
Skills in energy management and water conservation initiatives
Ability to perform written and oral communication
Ability to serve customers and contacts effective
Licenses and Certifications
Valid Class C Texas driver's license
