Boeing is seeking to hire a Communications Specialist, EU Policy & NATO. The position will be located in Brussels, Belgium, and will directly report to Boeing’s Director of communications Europe, Israel and Morocco. The hired candidate will work closely with the dynamic team based in Brussels and will also support the President of EU & NATO, Boeing Global.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm for the aerospace and defense industry, a proven track record in EU policy communications, a network of locally present media and associations, and a global mindset. An understanding of NATO structures and functions would be a plus. The candidate will have the ability to work independently and in a matrixed environment, and will enjoy working in a small, committed team in a global company.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at Brussels, Belgium. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
Position Responsibilities:
- Strengthen Boeing’s reputation with EU stakeholders, in support of Boeing’s key policy issues and interests. Shape perception and support policy efforts - working across all stakeholder constituencies: customers, supplier-partners, government and industry leaders, media, employees, shareholders, unions.
- Support Boeing’s interactions with NATO, particularly in leveraging media and stakeholders to support business campaigns.
- Deepen engagement with customers, media, partners and suppliers. Weave Boeing into the commercial, political, industrial narrative in Brussels.
- Pro-actively tell Boeing’s story with the EU and NATO, support and coordinate the response to emerging issues.
- Identify opportunities for EU institutional and third-party activities and shape strategic engagements in partnership with local team to support debates about ongoing and emerging policy initiatives.
- Create social and digital content, in direct support of Boeing’s EU policy playbooks, engagements with NATO and allied NATO nations, and Boeing’s local thought leadership strategy.
- Deepen editorial partnerships with relevant third parties, shape and execute in-house media and thought leadership event opportunities, and help Boeing secure speaking engagements in relevant public fora.
- Deliver recommendations to local Boeing Global team about future events, based on ongoing policy initiatives and societal trends.
- Represent the company with media, customers, partners, government organizations, industry associations, think tanks, opinion leaders on matters that matter.
- Coordinate with Boeing Communications and other internal stakeholder teams in the US and internationally to ensure alignment.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
- 5+ years of experience in communications with industry corporations, EU associations or other relevant players. Significant experience working with all stakeholders, not only media.
- Fluent in English.
- Solid track record in EU policy, including environment and sustainability, trans-Atlantic relations and defense and commercial industrial cooperation and regulatory affairs.
- International experience and strong intercultural understanding.
- An established network in Brussels showing a proven ability to work efficiently with media, political networks, industry and business associations, strategic partners and customers.
- Excellent writing, editing and content-development skills across formats (press releases, op-eds, policy briefs, speeches, articles for internal use and social content), with attention to tone, accuracy and audience targeting.
- Excellent media-relations skills with significant and proven crisis and issues management experience.
- In-depth knowledge of EU media, the international business environment and EU-US/ relations.
- Project Management experience in partnership with internal and external business partners.
- Experience in moderating events and general public speaking.
- Outstanding oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Creativity and proactivity.
Work Authorization:
This requisition is for a locally hired position in Belgium. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in Belgium.
