Organization & Team Overview
The Data and AI Organization (D&A) sits at the forefront of the Comcast data ecosystem, supporting data and AI initiatives across the enterprise. Within D&A, the Data and AI Governance and Automation team works to provide strategy for development and execution for data management practices. The team leads in privacy, metadata, taxonomy, process, and governance, collaborating with stakeholders across the company.
Role Description
If you are interested in being at the intersection of data and AI, this role will give you a glimpse into the innerworkings of data at scale, supporting AI across Comcast.
As a data management Co-op, you will work support the organization’s enterprise-wide data governance and management strategy. As part of this team, this co-op will be on the Metadata and Taxonomy team and will assist in metadata and taxonomy creation, maintenance, and outreach including (but not limited to):
Supporting the rollout of MetaHub, an in-house developed data management platform
Contributing to the D&A Portal, the primary metadata repository
Providing data analysis on projects and programs to identify gaps/issues and provide recommendations for adjustments
Participate in privacy data classification reviews
Support the migration of a Teradata database to Snwoflake, in particular the implementation of data access controls on the new platform
What are some interesting problems the student will work on?
This role will help to build the foundation for AI at Comcast, driving classification reviews, enabling trusted data, and representing human in the loop practices. They will assist in solving for data management gaps and implement tactical initiatives that drive data strategy.
Where can this student make an impact?
This role will work across multiple organizations to roll out data management practices that will enable trusted data for continued growth. Success in this role is characterized by implementing trusted metadata and taxonomy classifications supporting over 1000 internal applications.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supporting metadata and taxonomy implementation via the D&A portal, MetaHub, and Privacy Programs.
Updates to the data catalog to support the Data Accountability Framework
Outreach and reporting on MetaHub activities
Reviewing and updating Data Access Control, Taxonomy, and Privacy classifications from AI outputs
Assisting in building reports, processes, and documentation to support data management practices
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Preferred Skills
Experience with SQL and data querying methods
Copy editing, writing, and process documentation
Intermediated to Advanced Excel familiarity
Data analysis
An interest in data quality, data governance, and data management
Preferred Majors: Computer Science, Library Science, Data Science
Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Drexel University, with a cooperative learning track.
Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting September 22, 2026, through March 26, 2027.
Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting
