College Applications & Field Support Analyst

This position will be based at the College of Health Sciences and will provide primary Desktop, Device and Applications support for this location. Experience in applications and desktop support in a college setting is heavily preferred.

  

 

 

 

The College Applications and Field Support Analyst maintains and supports information technology users and hardware in the College of Health Sciences. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of computer-assisted simulation technology.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides first-level troubleshooting support for PC hardware failures for College administrators, faculty, staff and students.

  • Provides first-level support for network simulation technology.

  • Provides first-level support for wireless networking.

  • Maintains working knowledge of standard software for the PC's in the College, especially Microsoft Windows and Office and working knowledge of computerized patient models in the simulation lab.

  • Instructs PC users in equipment and program functions.

  • Communicates with vendor(s) through Information Services, as directed.

  • Develops long range plan for computer services including hardware/software for the College.

  • Collaborates on implementation of the approved plan for computer services for the College including faculty, staff, and students.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Sitting for up to seven hours per day, three hours at a time. Continuous use of fingers and hands for typing.  Requires hand and finger dexterity to use computer equipment.  Occasional kneeling, bending, stooping, lifting of objects weighing up to 60 lbs., and pushing object weighing up to 80 lbs. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation.  Seeing as it relates to general vision, near and far vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

EDUCATION:

A computer science or electronic technology major in Bachelor or Associate degree program.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Experience in solving hardware problems and/or previous computer operations experience.
