Hello Future Collections Advisor

As a Collections Advisor, you will play a key role in helping customers resolve their overdue accounts while protecting the business from financial risk. This role requires a confident communicator who can engage customers with empathy, clearly explain outstanding obligations, and negotiate fair and sustainable repayment solutions. You will be responsible for managing each interaction with professionalism, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to the achievement of team and business collection targets. Your ability to work independently, remain resilient under pressure, and uphold regulatory and compliance standards will be essential to your success.

Job Description

  • Make outbound calls to customers with overdue accounts.

  • Educate customers on outstanding amounts, repayment options and consequences of continued delinquency.

  • Negotiate and secure realistic repayment commitments aligned with business policies.

  • Update system records accurately and timeously after each interaction.

  • Work additional hours when required during peak periods or campaigns.

  • Adhere to company policies, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure all customer interactions meet quality assurance standards.

  • Maintain confidentiality and protect customer data in line with POPIA and internal controls.

Key Deliverables

  • Meet daily, weekly and monthly collections and productivity targets.

  • Manage time efficiently to maximize collections.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence repayment outcomes.

  • Good time management and ability to prioritize work effectively.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to detail with accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum qualification: Matric

  • Preferred Qualification: NQF 5

  • Minimum experience: 2–4 years inbound and outbound collections experience

Additional Requirements

  • In accordance with the National Credit Act (NCA), candidates applying for this role will require a credit record check.

  • Must have advanced Excel and PowerPoint knowledge

  • Good report-writing skills
