Fellow

Coffee Business Operations Manager

San Francisco, CA Full Time

About Fellow

At Fellow, we’re on a mission to help people brew ridiculously good coffee at home. But we’re more than just beautifully designed kettles and grinders—we’re a brand built on innovation, community, and culture. We believe great coffee isn’t just about the final cup; it’s about the experience, the ritual, and the people who make it all happen.

We’re looking for a Coffee Business Operations Manager to own the operational engine behind Fellow Drops, our fast-growing coffee program. This role manages the weekly Drops and serves as the day-to-day point of contact for our key roaster partners. You’ll build and run the systems, processes, and execution that make Drops reliable, scalable, and excellent—while working cross-functionally across Coffee, CX, Creative, Product, Marketing, and Operations to bring each launch to life. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who loves process and people (loving coffee is a great plus!).

This role is based in our San Francisco, CA office and requires regular in-office presence in accordance with company policy.

Who You Are

You’re a process-driven operator who brings order to complexity. You take ownership, spot gaps before they become problems, and build systems that scale. You’re comfortable coordinating across teams and external partners, managing timelines, and ensuring details are right.

You thrive in fast-moving environments and enjoy turning ambiguity into structure. You’re collaborative, a strong communicator, detail-oriented, and proactive.

What You’ll Do

Roaster & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the principal day-to-day operational manager to roasters, the Fellow Coffee Tasting Panel, and internal teams across Marketing, Creative, CX, Operations, and Product.
  • Own and manage the operational pipeline of roaster partners for Drops, from identifying potential partners to selecting the coffee.
  • Lead onboarding of coffee partners, ensure deliverables are met in time, and own tracking of product, pricing, and partner data for accuracy across systems.
  • Partner with roasters on planning and execution of special collaborations or seasonal features.
  • Build and maintain strong, reliable relationships with our partners by ensuring clarity, follow-through, and consistent execution.

Process & Operations Excellence

  • Build, document, and maintain a reliable process to support weekly Drops launches.
  • Own SOPs, launch checklists, calendars, and shared documentation.
  • Define and maintain operational workflows (e.g., roaster timelines, internal handoffs, issue resolution).
  • Drive root cause analysis for recurring issues (e.g., late shipments, CX issues) and identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.

Coffee Merchandising & Launch Execution

  • Partner with the Coffee Tasting Panel, roasters, and Creative team to ensure merchandising intent and coffee “story” are reflected accurately in each launch.
  • Ensure merchandising frameworks are applied to maintain variety and balance across Drops (origin, roast level, processing, format).
  • Drive weekly Drops campaigns end-to-end, including product setup, content readiness, and operational coordination.

Strategic Analysis

  • Analyze post-launch data to identify insights and growth opportunities.
  • Support testing and launch of new growth initiatives (e.g. bundles, credits, new formats, or operational pilots).
  • Document and institutionalize learnings and best practices to help the program scale efficiently over time.

Qualifications

  • Degree, certification, or vocational training in Operations Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management/Logistics.
  • 2–4 years of experience in operations, merchandising, supply chain, or e-commerce (consumer brand, CPG, or marketplace experience is a plus).
  • Experience coordinating complex projects or launches across multiple internal teams and external partners.
  • Strong systems thinker with excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Comfortable working with tools like Asana; familiarity with Shopify is a plus.
  • High attention to detail, strong follow-through, and a proactive, ownership-oriented mindset.
  • Clear communicator who can manage timelines, dependencies, and expectations across stakeholders.

Why You’ll Love This Role

  • A creative, fast-moving environment where ideas turn into action
  • Competitive compensation including employee equity plan
  • Generous paid time off plan
  • 401k with company contribution after 6 months of employment
  • Medical/dental/vision insurance
  • Better Yourself Wellness credit & Better Your Community donation matching
