Schedule: Monday‐Thursday AND Friday
Hours: Mon-Thur 6:30am -4:30pm AND Friday 5:00am – 1:30 pm
Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing all mill equipment. Other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
· Must have valid driver’s license. Must be willing to obtain a forklift certification and a hot work certification. Specialized equipment training (tractor and lawn mower) will be required. Must pass Respirator Fitness Test; will be required to wear a respirator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilties
· Preventative Maintenance on all mill equipment including record keepping. (40%)
· Repairs and maintains all equipment in the mill. (30%)
· Troubleshoots mechanical devices regarding the mill equipment.10%
· Utilizes computer based preventive maintenance program with equipment histories to write work orders and insure completion of scheduled maintenance and/or repair work. (10%)
· Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. Such as: Refers to Mill Management in coordinate activities of external vendors, Keep assigned housekeeping areas clean, disinfected and pressure washed as needed and other outside landscaping as needed (mowing, weed‐eating), Follow all Blow Down Permits, Learns operation of all mill equipment, Installs/connects electrical wiring, lighting fixtures, outlets, switches, wall boxes, cables and terminal boards, Performs simple math in adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments, Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor (10%)
Biosecurity Requirements:
· The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before delivering feed to the complexes and farms. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piericngs covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guildelines.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
· Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. Must regularly lift up to 60 pounds. Will occasionally be required to ascend/descend a caged ladder 197 feet high. Excessive walking, bending and lifting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus. Must have good communication skills to accurately convey opinions and concerns.
· Tools and Equipment:
· Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments. Heavy exposure to corn and soy dust.
· Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots are required. Ear plugs will be used as needed. NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed.
· Chemicals Commonly Used: Herbicides, Pesiticdes, and Disinfectants.
· Safety: Will be trained to recognize and comply with all safety procedures.
