Requirements: Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months. If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.

Location: Pocomoke Farm

Schedule: 5 days a week, usually 7am–5pm depending on when training is required, including holidays and weekends on an occasional basis.  If required to work any weekend hours then hours off during the week will be provided.

Hours:  Variation of hours - 8 hours a day.  Work hours are subject to change based upon needs of Management staff.

Position Summary

As an Interpreter/ Admin Assistant, you will play a crucial role in facilitating effective communication between employees and management, particularly in multicultural settings. You will be responsible for providing interpretation and translation services to ensure clarity and understanding in various HR, Safety and Animal Welfare related matters. Additionally, you will support the Managers with administrative tasks to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.

  • Requirements:  Applicates must be Trilingual – English, Spanish and Haitian Creole are the preferred languages, must be able to communicate in written and verbal.
  • Proven experience as an interpreter or translator, preferably in a corporate or HR environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of HR, Safety and Animal Welfare policies, procedures, and regulations is a plus
  • Must have Valid Driver’s License, 1 year verifiable Driving experience with clean safety record

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This position is responsible for performing interpreting and translating services of oral and/or written communication between English and other languages in a variety of settings. Must communicate well, display good people skills, and work well with team members of production, management, etc.

  • Provide interpretation services (English-Spanish-Haitian Creole) during meetings, interviews, and other HR, Safety and Animal Welfare related interactions.
  • Translate documents, policies, and procedures from one language to another with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist non-English speaking employees in understanding company policies, benefits, and other HR, Safety and Animal Welfare related information.
  • HR, Safety and Animal Welfare Administrative Support:
  • Assist with the recruitment process via communicating with candidates for phone screening and scheduling interviews.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding and orientation programs, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires.
  • Handle/translate inquiries from employees regarding HR, Safety and Animal Welfare policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Cultural Sensitivity and Confidentiality:
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and awareness when interacting with employees from diverse backgrounds.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality regarding sensitive HR, Safety and Animal Welfare information and employee data, must sign a confidentiality agreement.

Biosecurity/Animal Welfare/Safety Requirements:

The jobsite is an office setting with possible trips to the farms that are bio secure environments which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility.  Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company.  No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: Physical:  Must use safe lifting techniques.  Must regularly lift and/or move, up to 30 pounds to move items such as office supplies, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; use hands to handle or feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; climbing/ladder usage; talk or hear; drive a vehicle within the farm complex.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.

The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Environment:  Office setting but may be required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also work in hot, dry, dusty, wet, icy, snowy and cold environments when at farm areas.

Personal Protective Equipment Required:  Safety goggles, safety glasses, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, and company issued footwear are required; fall protection harness when required.  Ear plugs will be used as required.   NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed. 

Chemicals Commonly Used:  Disinfectants such as Synergize, Viorcid, Clorox wipes, Lysol, Formaldehyde, parts cleaners, oil, antifreeze, lubricants and ect.

Safety: Team member is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment. Team member is expected to identify, address and mitigate safety related risks.
