SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Provide professional technical advice to our customers, by on-site support on paint application, inspections and reporting, and feedback product performance to local TSS to ensure that the coating specification is met, the job is completed according to the contract and the customer’s satisfaction and that information contained in the product’s Application Guide is correct.

The following are alternatives for minimum levels of education and experience required for this position (either/or):
•Completed high school+ >6 years as CA with a competitor, or
•Completed + >7 years of experience as QC or applicator, or
•Completed high school + >3 years as Coating Advisor Level 2

Specific credentials/qualifications required in this role:
•English course if required
•FROSIO III – Red, NACE Level 2, or equivalent, Team No.1 Level 1 and Level 2

Technical Service Career Ladder
To qualify for Senior Coating Advisor Level 2, the following requirements must be met:
•Language course (if necessary)
•Advanced modules as required by the business

Responsibilities:

  • Give clear instructions to clients and relevant Jotun staff on paint application by working independently on-site with relevant client representatives to ensure the coating specification is met and in accordance with customer expectations.

  • Assist the TS manager with the development of Junior CAs by on-the-job training and support to ensure they develop their ability to work independently.

  • Manage projects where advanced products have been specified by giving clear instructions to clients and relevant Jotun staff per the specific working procedures to ensure that the specification and customer expectations are met.

  • Carry out inspections of specific projects assigned to you by your direct manager by working independently, following the ITP and working procedures in order to ensure that the product is applied in accordance with the specification. 

  • Write relevant reports by compiling data from inspections in order to document that the specification inspection criteria have been met.


(Senior Coating Advisor Level 1 can start to manage projects where the following products/services have been specified: Tanklinings (Epoxy), SeaLion series, Baltoflake, Chemflake, Inorganic Zinc Silicates, HPS)

  • Proficient in English.
