CNS - Science and Pre-Health Advising - Peer Advisor (FWS/NFWS)

Position Summary/Purpose:
The Science and Pre-Health Peer Advisor will assist the College of Natural Science's Science and Pre-Health Advisor and students at GCU who are pursuing medical school, pre-health, and science programs. They will meet with students to discuss career goals, needed general requirements to be competitive for medical school and pre-health programs and science programs.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:

• Meets with students through scheduled appointments or walk-in office hours.
• Delivers classroom presentations
• Processes data and updates student outcomes
• Builds resources, posters and standard operating procedures
• Manages social media and email inboxes
• Handles CNS faculty letter of recommendation processes.
• Assists with GCU Pre-Health Day when applicable or other relevant events or club presentations

Equipment Used and Responsibility:
Cell phone, otherwise, will provide equipment

Qualifications:

• Motivated and friendly
• Detail oriented
• Excellent communication
• Creativity
• Experienced with Microsoft Suite and Canva
• Available for in-person work over the summer and resides within 30 miles of GCU main campus

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
