IF

C#/.NET Developer

Turku Full time

Are you a skilled developer looking for a new challenge? If is the largest insurance company in the Nordics. IT is a crucial part of our work, and we are always working on new ways to enhance our systems. We are looking for two skilled C#/.NET developers to join the Core Tribe and contribute to the modernization of some of If’s most business-critical systems.

About the role

Your first major assignment will be to work on the IFA modernization initiative - a strategic effort to ensure that one of our core vehicle insurance platforms is equipped for the future.

The IFA system supports If’s private motor insurance processes in Finland. It handles core policy logic, validations, integrations, and data processing used throughout the customer journey. IFA system is now undergoing a structured modernization to ensure improved maintainability, performance, and integration-readiness for future digital services. In this role, you will help to shape the new technical foundation by modernizing components, enabling new integration patterns, and contributing to long-term architectural improvements.

After the IFA modernization work is completed, your next assignments will depend on broader Core Tribe priorities - this could involve other modernization efforts, new API driven initiatives, refactoring of additional legacy systems, or cross tribe engineering work.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with product, architecture, and business experts and to contribute directly to the modernization journey of our critical systems.

You will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain solutions in C#/.NET that support If’s insurance and claims processes

  • Contribute to modernization of the IFA solution (and later other solutions), including refactoring legacy components and enabling new integration patterns

  • Translate business requirements into clean, maintainable, and scalable technical solutions

  • Implement APIs, event-based integrations, and cloud-enabled components supporting future architectural direction

  • Ensure robust coding practices, documentation, security controls, and version management

  • Work closely with the squad leaders (Product Owner, Scrum Master), Tribe Architect and other developers in the squad

  • Collaborate with colleagues across Finland and if needed with colleagues in Norway, India and If IT Operations team (Cloud CoE, Mainframe CoE etc.)

  • Work in a cross-functional squad encompassing business domain experts and IT professionals
